Metal detecting and geophysical surveys were carried out on the site of the battle of Pilleth, 1402, for the Royal Commission (RCAHMW). Horse equipment contemporary with the battle and a fine Roman fibula brooch were recovered.
A detailed Level 3 survey the standing remains of the scheduled monument known as the Lower Water Gate, Brecon, took place prior to conservation and consolidation work. The structure once formed part of Brecon’s medieval town wall.
