A watching brief was undertaken by Archaeology Wales prior to the development of flood management systems near Risca, South Wales, in an area where important archaeological remains were known to exist. Arthurs Gate, Montgomery

A metal detector survey was undertaken immediately prior to the development of a site located in an area believed to be associated with the 1644 Battle of Montgomery. Excavation of structured deposits in an Early Neolithic pit at Caer Odyn, Rhydypennau, Ceredigion, identified fragment of a polished axe, pottery and cremated human bone dated to c. 3700 BC, making the pit one of the earliest such features yet found in Ceredigion.
