Kate Pit

BA (Hons) MA, ACIfA, Project Officer

Kate has worked within the profession since graduating from UCL in 1999 and is currently a Project Officer with AW. Kate has experience in managing field-work projects from inception to publication and her desk-based experience includes managing and authoring Archaeological Impact Assessments, Desk-based Assessments, Environmental Statement preparation, and writing WSIs and Specifications.

In her role as Project Officer, Kate has been undertaking Historic Building Surveys and Photographic Surveys, Lithic Assessments, helping to revise AW’s Health and Safety documentation and co-ordinating the post-excavation phases of fieldwork projects.

Kate has a good knowledge of the commercial archaeological process within the current planning framework in both England and Wales, having worked for major archaeological companies and Trusts. Kate has held ACIfA membership since 2013 and has presented a paper at the organisation’s annual conference. A personal interest is promoting archaeology in the public realm.
