Andrew John Shobbrook

Andrew has worked for Archaeology Wales for the past 5 years and is currently a Supervisor. He has 13 years of experience in commercial field archaeology, having graduating from Trinity College Carmarthen in 2004.

Andrew has worked extensively across Wales as a Site Assistant, Watching Brief Archaeologist and a Supervisor for the company, supervising excavations and evaluation works at Harlech Castle, Caernarfon Castle Gate House, Shoals Hook Solar Farm, Laugharne Castle and Town Meadows, Marloes. Andrew’s main duties also include the writing of reports, site walk-over surveys and undertaking watching briefs and geophysical surveys.

Andrew’s main archaeological interests include the Prehistoric period in west Wales, the Romano British period throughout Britain and the foundation of the Early Welsh Kingdoms. He enjoys a strong affinity with the landscapes of south-west Wales, in particular those of his home county of Pembrokeshire.
